In this four-hour workshop with the multidisciplinary artist Karina Smagulova, the basic principle of hand building and especially the wrapping technique will be discussed.

The participants will develop small to medium-sized moulds, which they will then build with clay with Karina's support.

Karina will share her knowledge, tips and tricks for hand building so that the participants can continue to work independently and develop further.

Karina Smagulova, a multidisciplinary artist from London, introduces her organic vase creation in this «Coiled Vessels compact» workshop.

The «Women Vessels» are part of Karina's ongoing research, in which she explores the transcendental meanings of the vessel through the method of wrapping.

Karina will introduce the participants to the coiling technique. The rolling out of beads and the scoring and slip method for the walls of the vessels will also be introduced.

During this 4-hour workshop (either 24.05 or 25.05 in the evening), participants will have the opportunity to develop a small to medium-sized mould and then build and work on it in three dimensions using the clay wrapping technique.

All manufactured objects are burnt on high.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as advanced students who want to refine their technique.
