Born in Switzerland in 1984, ceramicist Laurin Schaub consistently pursues current issues of design in the field of tension between traditional craftsmanship and new technology. After a lot of experience in traditional manufactories, a postgraduate degree at the HEAD in Geneva and several years of teaching at the School of Design in Bern, he now focuses exclusively on his work as a designer in his own studio. Laurin Schaub has received several awards for his work.
Laurin Schaub has developed a workshop for db pottery focussing on glazes. The workshop begins with an introduction to the basics of the world of glazes. The topics of composition, properties and mixing methods are covered.
Laurin will present various mixing squares. Glazes will then be developed, tested and improved in a series of experiments. All participants will be able to glaze their own objects at the end.
This course is suitable for participants who already have some knowledge of making ceramics and using prefabricated glazes.

- Material costs for glaze production are included. As the raw fired objects are to be brought by the participants themselves and therefore vary in quantity and size, an additional charge will be made individually for the high firing.

Cancellations and Rebooking
Cancellation by participants: No refunds for cancellations made within 4 weeks of the course start date or after the course has started. Cancellations made 6 or more weeks before the course start date are free of charge. For cancellations made 4-6 weeks before the course start date, we charge a fee of CHF 50.
Course cancellation by organiser: If the course is cancelled by the organiser, the course fee will be refunded in full.
Substitute participant: Admission of substitute participants is permitted.
Course changes: Organiser may change course details; participants will be informed in time.
