Around ceramics_ Porcelain workshop

Marc Leuthold

Has been teaching since 1997 as professor at the State University of New York and has taught at Princeton University and the Parsons School of Design.
Since 2016, he has been a guest professor at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, Shanghai, and at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. He is one of forty Americans who were elected as lifelong members of the International Academy of Ceramics in 1999. 

For two days, we will work with porcelain using hand-building techniques. We will explore some traditional Chinese forms such as brush holders, boxes, small cups, and possibly some plate work. These forms are ideal for carving and stamping unique textures. There will also be the opportunity to create some rolling texture tools, which will prove useful even after the workshop.

• A flat fee of CHF 30 per kilogram will be charged for the objects created, which includes the firing.
