Abstract meets clay

In this 6-hour workshop we will combine two different techniques: Hand building and abstract painting.

In the first session, participants will create 2-4 small/medium sized ceramic pieces of their choice using the slab technique.

In the second session, the objects will be decorated using the abstract painting technique. Participants will be shown how the technique works and will have the opportunity to sketch their ideas on paper and then paint them on ceramic.

In the first phase of the workshop, participants will produce their own ceramics using the slab technique under the guidance of Ljubica. This technique creates a smooth and even surface which is suitable for painting. Ljubica will introduce the course participants to this technique and support them in designing their objects.

In the second phase, the works created will be decorated using abstract painting techniques under Francesca's guidance. We start with an introduction to the technique of abstract painting, then the first ideas and inspirations are first tested on paper and then transferred to the ceramics we have created ourselves. Finally, the resulting works are glazed transparently and high-fired by our team after the raw firing.
All materials are provided by the studio, just bring some inspiration, desire and mood.

This workshop is accompanied by a glass of wine and snacks.

This course is suitable for participants who do not yet have any knowledge of making ceramics.
