Meet the Maker*: Corinne Vontobel

This month's featured maker has developed a tableware collection centered around carved wooden shapes—and in doing so, has found her own unique style. Maker Corinne Vontobel shows us how trying to combine a busy everyday life with creativity can result in an entire collection.
Growing up in a creative environment, design has always been a part of Corinne Vontobel's life. She found her way to clay through friends and a ceramics course. In an otherwise busy daily life, the hours she spends in the studio help her to find peace, stay focused, and be creative.

Over time, the desire grew to not only make pottery but to develop something of her own. Corinne crafted wooden molds, experimented, and refined her techniques until the idea took shape. The result is the tableware series. Anthia: carefully crafted, timeless and unmistakably their own.
Corine's works can be seen in our studio window at Schiffbaustrasse 9a throughout June and July — and selected pieces from the AnthiaThe collection is available directly from us. You can follow her work on Instagram at @corinne.ceramics consequences.
