I have never worked with clay before, neither on the turntable nor by hand. Can I still attend a course with you?
There are suitable courses for all levels. From a selection of courses for beginners to workshops with well-known ceramic artists for advanced students.
Do I need to have attended a course to become a member?
Yes, if you are inexperienced in the world of ceramics, you must have attended a course to become a member of the db pottery studio. If you already have good knowledge and are familiar with the potter's wheel and glazes, you can simply book a db pottery instruction course and then become a member. The one-hour instruction course costs CHF 60.
What do I need to bring for the course?
Comfortable clothing is recommended. While the clay washes out very well, it's best not to wear your favorite sweater. Everything else is provided, including aprons, which are available at the studio. The FAQ for pottery classes also advises against wearing long fingernails! If possible, please trim them a little before the class begins.
What are the cancellation conditions for the courses?
General Courses: Free cancellation up to 14 days before the course begins. Cancellations between 7 and 14 days before the start are subject to a processing fee of CHF 50. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 7 days of the course start date or after the course has started. Courses with higher organizational effort (including all courses with guest lecturers, our regular intensive courses, and intensive weeks): Free cancellation up to 6 weeks before the course start date. Cancellations between 4 and 6 weeks before the start date are subject to a processing fee of CHF 50. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 4 weeks of the course start date or after the course has started.
What happens if I am suddenly unable to attend all the dates?
In principle, it is the responsibility of the participants to attend all course dates. If it is not possible to take part in the glazing part (always the last date of a course lasting several weeks), it is possible to glaze on another course after consultation.
