PURE NATURE - POTTERY RETREAT IN SOUTH TYROL

Larch meadows, porphyry gorges and sandstone canyons. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, four days of relaxation and creativity combined at the wonderful Zirmerhof in Radein in South Tyrol.

Pure nature - pottery retreat in South Tyrol

Do you feel the urge to take a break in the midst of forests and meadows? At an altitude of 1550 metres, away from the hustle and bustle, street noise and mass tourism, on the Regglberg low mountain plateau lies the small alpine mountain village of Radein. Surrounded by the scent of larch forests and meadows, we embark on a five-day break from everyday life and an immersive experience of complete relaxation.

The Zirmerhof, an old farmhouse dating back to the 12th century, is nestled in the countryside. There you will find true luxury: SPACE-TIME-REST-SIMPLENESS-RELAXATION. The wonderful Zirmerhof will be our home for the duration of our pottery retreat.

Together we will also give free rein to our creativity. We will work with clay, using both the potter's wheel and various hand-building techniques. We will also organise a hike together, relax in the Zirmerhof's spa and indulge in the culinary delights of the hotel's own traditional cuisine.

We would be delighted if we could inspire you to do the same.

A little more about the Zirmerhof

The Zirmerhof is much more than just a mountain hotel. On its 150 hectares around the Zirmerhof, in addition to forests and meadows, there is also a farm with its own highland cattle and a vineyard a little lower down.

The Zirmerhof also endeavours to close its own natural cycles when it comes to energy. Our own forest not only supplies wood for carpenters and sawmills, but is also the most important source of energy at the Zirmerhof itself. All buildings are heated with wood biomass.

HIKING-Geoparc Bletterbach

The Bletterbach Gorge has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Dolomites since 2009.

A hike through the gorge is a very special experience, a journey through millions of years of the earth's history. The Bletterbach Gorge provides an insight into the interior of the mountains, into the world of rocks. Fossils in the marine deposits, such as shells, snails and parts of plants, tell of life in the warm tropical seas.

Upon request, we are happy to organize a hike with a geo guide.

Good footwear is required for this.

Pottery retreat: Pottery

The experienced designer Natascha Madeiski and db pottery studio founder Denise Kratzer will accompany you during the retreat. We will start on Wednesday with an introduction, and then on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we will work with clay for 3 hours each day. We will alternately be creative on the pottery wheel and through hand-building. If desired, we will then transport the resulting objects to Zurich and raw-fire them in our ceramics studio. On request, we can also take care of the glaze firing for an additional charge and, if necessary, dispatch the objects.

Suitable for beginners as well as for advanced.
