General Terms and Conditions: COURSE

SCOPE OF APPLICATION, AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter “GTC”) govern the legal relationship between db pottery studio GmbH, Schiffbaustrasse 9a, 8005 Zurich (hereinafter “db pottery studio”), and the participants (hereinafter “Participant”) of pottery workshops organised by db pottery studio (together referred to as the “Parties”).
1.2 Deviating or supplementary provisions shall only apply if explicitly agreed in writing by db pottery studio and shall only be valid for the specific individual case. In case of doubt, these GTC shall prevail.
1.3 All forms of communication that enable written proof, such as e-mail (denise@db-pottery.ch), shall be deemed equivalent to the written form. -
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
2.1 Registration for all workshops is binding and must be completed via the official booking platform on the website (www.db-pottery.ch). Spontaneous participation (drop-ins) is not permitted.
2.2 The Participant’s spot in a workshop is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.
2.3 By registering for a workshop, the Participant acknowledges and accepts these GTC. -
COURSE TYPES AND LEVELS
3.1 Workshops may vary in duration and format. All details regarding schedule, content, instructors, and age suitability are specified in the workshop description on the website.
3.2 Unless otherwise stated in the workshop description, all workshops are suitable for all levels. -
AGE REQUIREMENTS
4.1 Unless otherwise specified, pottery classes are suitable for participants aged 16 years and older.
4.2 Separate classes are offered specifically for children and teenagers aged 8 to 16 years (“Kids’ Classes”). Participation in these classes is restricted to the stated age group.
4.3 db pottery studio reserves the right to request proof of age and to decline participation if the age requirements are not met. -
MATERIALS
5.1 All materials (clay, glazes, tools, etc.) are included in the course fee unless otherwise stated in the course description.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
6.1 Cancellation by the participant
Workshops in general:- Free cancellation up to 14 days before the start of the workshop.
- Cancellation between 7 and 14 days before the start is subject to an administrative fee of CHF 50.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 7 days before the workshop or after it has started.Workshop which require more organisation an preparation (this incl. all workshops held by guest mentors, all our regular Intensecourses and Intenseweeks):
- Free cancellation up to 6 weeks before the start of the workshop.
- Cancellation between 4 and 6 weeks before the start is subject to an administrative fee of CHF 50.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 4 weeks before the workshop or after it has started.6.2 Cancellation by db pottery studio
If a workshop is cancelled by db pottery studio, the course fee will be refunded in full. No further claims shall be accepted.6.3 Substitute participant
The Participant may appoint a substitute to take their place in the workshop. Notification must be sent in advance to db pottery studio via e-mail with the full name and contact details of the substitute. -
MODIFICATIONS TO WORKSHOPS
7.1 db pottery studio reserves the right to make changes to the course content, instructors, schedule, or location. Participants will be informed of such changes in a timely manner.

BEHAVIOUR AND STUDIO REGULATIONS
8.1 Participants must treat the studio, its equipment, the staff, and other participants with respect at all times.
8.2 Smoking is strictly prohibited in the studio and directly at the entrance.
8.3 Dogs are not allowed unless otherwise agreed with the studio management.
8.4 db pottery studio reserves the right to exclude participants from the course without a refund in cases of inappropriate or unsafe behavior.

LIABILITY
9.1 Participation in the courses is at your own risk. db pottery studio disclaims any liability, to the extent permitted by law, for injuries or damages resulting from the use of equipment or participation in the course.
9.2 The participant is responsible for having adequate accident and liability insurance.
9.3 db pottery studio is not liable for theft, loss, or damage to personal belongings.

PARTIAL VALIDITY / APPLICABLE LAW AND PLACE OF JURISDICTION
10.1 Should any provision of these terms and conditions be wholly or partially invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a legally valid one that comes as close as possible to the intended purpose.
10.2 These terms and conditions, as well as all related legal matters, are governed exclusively by Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zurich.
