TERRAZZO VASES

Terrazzo surfaces as we know them today originally date back to the 18th century. At that time, this method was used to make the production of so-called seminato floors cheaper and to reprocess leftover materials. This resulted in diverse and colourful surfaces.

Based on the original production of terrazzo, Natascha Madeiski has developed her own method for realising three-dimensional objects in terrazzo. In this three-hour workshop, participants will learn how to create fascinating terrazzo surfaces with porcelain using the moulding process. Participants will have the opportunity to make their own terrazzo vase. The necessary moulds will be provided. No pottery experience is required.

Originally, terrazzo consisted mainly of marble and leftover glass, but today there are numerous ways to produce terrazzo surfaces. Natascha Madeiski has worked intensively on the production of terrazzo porcelain and has developed her own method for producing her terrazzo vases. In this workshop we will focus on the application of terrazzo with porcelain. Course participants will have the opportunity to make their own terrazzo vases from porcelain, with the moulds provided. The objects will be transparent glazed and fired by our team after the workshop.

The vases are ready for collection approximately 3 weeks after completion.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as advanced students who want to learn a new technique.
