In this workshop, the focus is on marbling clay. This is a creative technique where color pigments are mixed into the clay to create a marble-like structure. In this workshop, the basic steps and possibilities will be explored.

Marc Leuthold
Has been teaching since 1997 as professor at the State University of New York and has taught at Princeton University and the Parsons School of Design.
Since 2016, he has been a guest professor at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, Shanghai, and at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. He is one of forty Americans who were elected as lifelong members of the International Academy of Ceramics in 1999.
Zwei Tage lang werden wir mit Marc Leuthold die historische Technik des Marmorierens von Ton erforschen. Mit Pigmenten und einem hellen Tonkörper marmorieren wir den Ton von Grund auf. Dann kombinieren wir farbigen Ton, um Formen zu schaffen, die von kleinen Schachteln, Teeschalen, Gefäßen bis hin zu reinen Skulpturen reichen – Dabei sind den TeilnehmerInnen in Ihrer Kreativität keine Grenzen gesetzt. Wenn die Formen lederhart sind, bearbeiten wir diese mit Einschnitten und Ausschabungen, um die von uns geschaffenen marmorierten Muster zu enthüllen. Da der marmorierte Ton unsere endgültige Oberflächendekoration ist, ist keine Glasur erforderlich; Die Objekte müssen nur einmalig gebrannt werden.

Cancellation conditions:
Cancellation by participants: No refund for cancellations within 7 days before the start of the course or after the start of the course. Free cancellation 14 or more days before the course starts. We charge a fee of CHF 50 for cancellations 7-14 days before the course starts.
Course cancellation by organiser: If the course is cancelled by the organiser, the course fee will be refunded in full.
Substitute participant: Admission of substitute participants is permitted.
Course changes: Organiser may change course details; participants will be informed in time.
